My reason for 'signing in' is that I, too, have a Service Dog, Celyn (hard 'c' -- Welsh, see). She is right here, a heartbeat at my feet. I am in frewuent contact with the National Service Dog Center/Delta Society in Washington, as I am fighting legal battles with public purveyors who don't 'get it' if you know what I mean. My disability isn't obvious, Celyn isn't an Alsation or Retriever (or BIG) so we get denied services & access, or harrassment. I am looking for the ancestors of Washington Adams who was born in OH in 1812. Most likely born in Cincinnati. Possible he was orphaned about age 14 (1825) and a guardian appointed by the name of William McLean, a US Congressman who was the brother of Supreme Court Judge. In 1840's Washington was living in Ligonier, IN with wife Laura (?). They had three children born in Ligonier. They were: Mary J. Adams born in 1840, Moses born in 1842 and Martha born in 1846. In 1860's the entire family living in Mt. Carroll, IL where in 1861 dau Mary J married Andrew J. Christian. Mary and Andrew continued to live in Mt. Carroll where several of their children were born. Washington died in 1863 and his widow, Laura (?) remarried a few years later. Also believe that Washington was related to the Adams family of MA.

I'm looking for info on William Adams Sr. and son William Adams Jr. They lived in Wilkes Co., NC in 1700's. Father born about 1725, son about 1750. They owned property next to each other. Wm. Jr. was married to Mary Baker and Wm Sr. may also have been arried to a Mary. Both died in the later part of the 1700's and there is some confusion as to dates and places of death. One may have died over the ridge in Valley Forge, TN. Wm. Jr. had siblings: John, Nipper, Thomas and Sarah Adams. Wm. Sr. may have been a brother to John Hobbs Adams Sr. Many of the NC Adams moved to southeast KY around 1800. I have more information on later generations to share. I am searching for the background of CONRAD ADAMS who died in Northumberland (now Columbia) Co.,PA. in 1801. He had three children, William, Elizabeth, and Eleanor, by his first wife(name unknown). His second wife was Sarah Boone, and they had Eve, Benjam n, Samuel, Henry, Catherine, and Jacob. An old letter I have, says he was first cousin to Pres. John Adams. So far, no connections. Can anyone help?

Richard married Hettie Ailstock in 1885 in Bath County, VA. They had 12 children. I would like to know if he had br thers and sisters and where his family originated from. My great great grandmother was Rutha Malinda Long, her father was Thomas Long, mother Elizabeth Ann McDonald. Thomas was born October 22, 1808, in Abingdon, Virginia to William H. Long and Rebeccah Henly. William was born in 1785 in Pennsylvania. His fa her's name was also William. The Long family came to Pennsylvania in about 1750. Other than this information, I do not know anything about the family of William H. Long. Is there any connection between our families? If you have any information that mi ht help, please let me know.
