In this section I will show you how to fit an automatic boot release from a high spec car (ghia/xr2i) to a low/base spec car (L/Popular Plus).

If your car does not have a center console then please read the How to fit a center console guide first.

Tools needed.

Tools that would be helpfull.

• Haynes manual - The haynes manual is worth it's weight in gold, not only for the wiring diagrams but also in times where you have to do work on the car. (Any reference to the relevant sections in the haynes manual will be made in red )
  
• WD40 - just in case!
  

Parts needed.

Boot release motor

Boot release switch

Center console - if your car doesn't already have one.

Pair of boot contact plates off high spec car

Inserting the motor into the boot lid.

Remove the inner boot trim.

Remove the old conection plate on the boot lid and attatch the wires for heated rear window, rear wiper and boot light to new conection plate.

Connect the wire for the boot relase motor to the motor.
